Appointment Scheduling

We want to avoid long wait times for our patients. That’s why we operate as an appointment-based practice. Before you come to see us, please schedule an appointment via the practice app’s appointment chat or, if that’s not possible, either by phone or online. Alternatively—and highly recommended—schedule your next appointment right after your visit with us. Generally, we offer two different types of appointments: shorter appointments for acute conditions and longer appointments for preventive care, consultations, and ultrasound exams. To ensure we allocate the appropriate appointment length and schedule the necessary time correctly, we ask you specifically about your concerns when scheduling your appointment. For this reason, we do not offer online appointment booking, as this often leads to incorrect bookings and, consequently, confusion—which we would like to avoid.

You should plan for well-child checkups well in advance and schedule an appointment at least eight weeks before your desired date. As a general rule, we take into account your preference regarding which doctor you would like your child to see, particularly for consultations and well-child checkups; however, this is not always possible due to scheduling constraints for these appointments. In the case of children with acute illnesses, we may not always be able to accommodate your preference. We recommend that you schedule the U2–U9 well-child checkups primarily in the morning. The afternoon is preferred for checkups for school-age children.

If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please cancel as soon as possible, but at least 24 hours in advance.

Despite our scheduling, there may unfortunately still be wait times—the treatment of serious emergencies always takes priority. We appreciate your understanding.

Contagion

If you have noticed a rash on your child or suspect a contagious illness, please let the reception desk know. In particular, please let us know if you have chosen an alternative vaccination schedule. The practice has two separate waiting rooms to minimize the risk of infection.

Vaccinations

We always need to see your vaccination record to administer a vaccination. Without it, we will unfortunately have to send you home and schedule a new appointment. If a teenager comes in alone for a vaccination, a signed parental consent form is also required.

We administer vaccinations in accordance with the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO). During the first year of life, we typically begin the first vaccination one month before the U4 well-baby checkup, which takes place when the baby is two to three months old. We will explain the vaccinations to you beforehand and provide you with informational materials.

If you wish to have your child vaccinated in a manner that differs from STIKO’s recommendations, we will provide you with detailed information about the advantages and disadvantages. Such a vaccination (or vaccination schedule) that deviates from STIKO’s recommendations can only be administered with the written consent of both parents.

Other Things to Keep in Mind

For preventive checkups, we’ll need your child’s yellow preventive care booklet. For the initial visit, please help us by filling out the medical history form. If you have any important past medical records, please bring them with you. And, of course, please always remember to bring your chip card.

We sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation. You can find more detailed information to print out by opening the linked PDF.

Please bring a spare diaper and/or a pad (e.g., a towel) to the appointment, depending on your child’s age. For hygiene reasons, your child will not be allowed to eat or drink anything during the treatment.

Strollers can be parked in the entrance area of the office.
