New STIKO Recommendation on Meningococcal Vaccination for 12- to 24-Year-Olds
Dear Teenagers and Parents, Dear Children,
Since the end of 2025, the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) has recommended that all 12- to 14-year-olds be vaccinated against meningococcal groups ACWY. This vaccination recommendation has now been published in the Federal Gazette, so your health insurance provider must cover the cost of this vaccination for you. In addition, anyone up to age 24 may receive this vaccination at the health insurance provider’s expense. This is possible at our clinic. Information for you:

Publication in the Federal Gazette
We believe this vaccine against severe meningitis is highly recommended, and we have set aside time in the afternoon to administer it. You will need to pay for this one-time vaccination yourself; you will receive a bill for the vaccine from the pharmacy, and your health insurance will fully reimburse you for our vaccination service. We also believe it is advisable to vaccinate children ages 0–12; unfortunately, reimbursement is not mandatory in this case. If you’re interested in vaccinating your children aged 0–12, please contact your health insurance provider; some health insurance providers cover the cost of the Men ACWY vaccine for children aged 0–12. If you have any questions, please contact us.
